Russian forces targeted three Kyiv districts early Sunday following warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky of an imminent missile strike.

Russian forces launched early-morning strikes against Kyiv, igniting fires across three city districts including a commercial warehouse, several vehicles, and an abandoned building. The bombardment followed warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that intelligence indicated Moscow was preparing a large-scale missile assault.

Simultaneously, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated that freezing the ongoing conflict remains impossible without specific policy decisions from Kyiv. Russian President Vladimir Putin also criticized Western foreign policy and NATO expansion, alleging that Western actions dismantled post-World War II global stability and predicting Ukraine will eventually lose its western regions.

Separately, member states of the International Criminal Court voted to remove Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan from his post following allegations of sexual misconduct involving a staff member.
