Early morning Russian air strikes targeted Kyiv, causing fires across three city districts. Emergency services reported damage to a warehouse, vehicles, and a vacant four-story building in the Desnyanskyi and Shevchenkivskyi areas. The bombardment followed warnings from Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky that Moscow was planning a large-scale missile assault within 48 hours. Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov ruled out freezing the conflict, citing Kyiv's refusal to accept Moscow's conditions.
In international developments, member states of the International Criminal Court voted by a large majority to remove Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan following allegations of sexual misconduct.
Separately, severe wildfires across four Spanish provinces—Avila, Castellon, Madrid, and Toledo—forced the evacuation of over 73,000 people, marking Spain's largest fire-driven displacement this century.
