Russian strikes hit Kyiv as EU warns Moscow over European drone incidents
Russian strikes targeted Kyiv following Zelensky's UN speech, while the EU warned Moscow after drone suspects were identified in Germany.
Russian forces launched overnight drone strikes on Kyiv, injuring at least one person and damaging infrastructure. The attacks intensified following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly, where he denounced Moscow's aggression.
Russia's Defense Ministry announced a renewed campaign targeting Ukraine's energy grid. Concurrently, Ukrainian strikes on Russian oil refineries have disrupted domestic fuel supplies, forcing Moscow to import petrol.
In Europe, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen warned that the bloc "will not tolerate attacks on EU soil." The statement followed German investigators identifying two Moscow-linked suspects in connection with explosive drones discovered in Leipzig.
