Russian air strikes killed at least eight people in Ukraine, while a cruise missile crossed into Polish airspace and exploded in a field, raising regional security concerns.

Russian air strikes across Ukraine killed at least eight people and injured dozens overnight, with heavy bombardment hitting the capital, Kyiv. According to local officials, four residents died and 15 were injured in Kyiv after strikes damaged five-story residential complexes and commercial buildings.

During the barrage, a Russian cruise missile entered Polish airspace, flying roughly 100 kilometers over six minutes before detonating in a field in eastern Poland. The impact created a crater five meters deep and ten meters wide, scattering wreckage across a 200-meter radius and heightening concerns over potential regional escalation.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated calls for the United States to grant licensing rights allowing Ukraine to produce Patriot air defense interceptors domestically. Washington remains hesitant to authorize the transfer. Zelensky also accused Moscow of deploying North Korean ballistic missiles in the recent offensive.
