Portugal's parliament has rejected a motion of no confidence introduced by Chega after the opposition Socialist Party abstained.

Portugal's parliament debated a motion of no confidence submitted by the far-right Chega party against the executive. The initiative, targeted at political authority and controversies surrounding the Minister of Internal Administration, was defeated after the opposition Socialist Party abstained alongside votes against from governing parties.

During the parliamentary debate, Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro stated that the administration operates without a "preferential partner" in parliament, while suggesting voters would make a political assessment of Chega's actions. Cabinet representatives concluded the session by criticising both Chega for tabling the motion and the Socialists for their parliamentary stance. The rejection ensures the minority government remains in power despite ongoing legislative pressure.
