Portugal's minority government criticized both Chega and the Socialist Party following the expected failure of a parliamentary censure motion.

Portugal's minority coalition government addressed parliament following the rejection of a censure motion submitted by the far-right Chega party. The motion failed after the main opposition Socialist Party abstained, as anticipated prior to the debate.

During closing remarks, Cabinet officials criticized Chega for introducing a measure destined to fail, while also pointing to the Socialists' decision not to vote against the executive. Minister of the Presidency António Leitão Amaro stated that the public would make a "political judgment" concerning Chega's tactics. Despite the heightened tension between the parties, government representatives emphasized that the executive will continue negotiating legislation on a case-by-case basis without naming a preferred parliamentary partner.
