Polish defense analysts argue that record spending must be accompanied by institutional reforms to ensure genuine combat readiness.

Polish defense experts and think tanks are urging structural reforms in the nation's armed forces to match its escalating defense budget, projected to reach 200.1 billion PLN or 4.81 percent of GDP by 2026.

While Poland's massive hardware acquisitions—such as F-35 fighter jets, HIMARS missile systems, and main battle tanks—aim to build effective deterrence, analysts warn that record spending alone cannot guarantee combat readiness. Reports from organizations including the Defence Institute and Rozwój Plus argue that the current defense system suffers from strategic drift. To address this, experts call for comprehensive overhauls of command structures, mobilization frameworks, personnel management, and weapons procurement systems to translate high outlays into sustained defense capabilities.
