Oman and Iran negotiate plan to reopen Strait of Hormuz following pause in US strikes

An Omani delegation in Tehran is negotiating a plan to reopen the Strait of Hormuz following a pause in US air strikes ordered by President Donald Trump.
Efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East advanced as an Omani delegation arrived in Tehran to negotiate a framework for reopening the Strait of Hormuz. The diplomatic initiative comes after US President Donald Trump halted a 13-day campaign of nightly air strikes against Iranian targets to allow space for negotiations.
Sources indicate that Tehran and Muscat could finalize an agreement over the weekend. Meanwhile, reports suggest Washington continues to evaluate a covert operation targeting Iran's enriched uranium stockpiles, a proposal analysts described as "too risky".
Concurrently, Tehran accused Ukraine of a Caspian Sea attack on an Iranian commercial vessel that killed one sailor, alleging an "irrational and hostile approach" by Kyiv.
