German authorities are conducting an intensive manhunt after a vehicle struck attendees at Berlin's Pride festival, killing one person and injuring 16 others.

German authorities are pursuing a citywide manhunt in Berlin after a driver rammed a white van into attendees at the Christopher Street Day Pride festival near Tiergarten park on Saturday evening.

The attack left one woman dead and 16 people injured, with several remaining in critical condition. Emergency services halted the annual celebration shortly before 10:00 p.m. local time as medical crews and law enforcement flooded the scene.

According to investigators, the suspect fled on foot immediately following the collision. While police have identified an individual allegedly connected to Islamist circles, no arrests have been made. Berlin Mayor Kai Wegner condemned the violence, describing it as "an attack on our free and open society". Special police units continue searching the capital as motive investigations proceed.
