German authorities have identified a suspect following a vehicle attack at Berlin's Christopher Street Day festival that killed one person and injured 16 others.

German authorities have identified a suspect in connection with Saturday's vehicle ramming at the Christopher Street Day festival in Berlin, which left one woman dead and 16 others injured.

Police and federal law enforcement agencies are continuing a large-scale manhunt after a white transport van was driven into a crowd near Tiergarten park shortly before 22:00 local time. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot. Several of the injured remain in critical condition.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that evidence points toward an intentional act, noting "everything we are seeing here shows that we are dealing with an Islamist attack." Organizers suspended the Pride celebration immediately following the incident as emergency crews responded.
