German police are searching for an identified suspect after a van rammed a crowd at Berlin's Christopher Street Day festival, killing one woman and injuring 16 others.

German law enforcement agencies are continuing an intensive manhunt across Berlin following a vehicle ramming attack at the Christopher Street Day festival on Saturday evening. A white transport van was driven into a crowd near Tiergarten park shortly before 22:00 local time, leaving one woman dead and 16 other people injured, several critically.

German Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt stated that initial investigations indicate an intentional, Islamist-motivated attack. Police confirmed that the driver abandoned the vehicle near the scene and fled on foot. Although officials noted that a suspect has been identified, no arrests have been made as local and federal authorities coordinate search efforts across the capital.
