French wildfires threaten key defense facilities near Bordeaux

Wildfires spreading west of Bordeaux pose a threat to major French defense facilities, including sites belonging to Dassault Aviation, ArianeGroup, and MBDA.
Wildfires spreading rapidly to the west of Bordeaux are threatening several critical French defense industry facilities. The blazes pose a direct risk to strategic manufacturing sites, including an ArianeGroup facility that produces propulsion components for ballistic missiles, as well as Dassault Aviation’s final assembly line for Rafale fighter jets. Additionally, the fire jeopardizes a major production plant responsible for manufacturing solid-fuel rocket motors used in MBDA missiles. French emergency services are actively fighting the wildfires to contain their spread and safeguard key industrial infrastructure in the region.
