Yorgen Fenech’s defence team has requested the jury be dissolved over tablet news access as closing arguments concluded in his trial.
Lawyers representing Yorgen Fenech have requested the dissolution of the jury in his trial after discovering that jurors could access news headlines on court-issued tablets. The procedural request was made as the defence concluded its closing submissions to the court.
During its final arguments, the defence challenged the credibility of key prosecution witness Melvin Theuma and questioned the timeline presented by prosecutors. Following the completion of defence submissions, Judge Edwina Grima is set to address the jury before members retire for deliberations.
