Defence requests jury dissolution in Yorgen Fenech trial

Defence lawyers for Yorgen Fenech have requested the dissolution of the jury after discovering jurors could access news headlines on court tablets.
Defence lawyers in the murder trial of businessman Yorgen Fenech have formally requested the dissolution of the jury on its 45th day. The procedural application followed revelations that jurors were able to view online news headlines using court-issued electronic tablets.
Concurrently, the defence concluded its final submissions, focusing on undermining the credibility of key state witness Melvin Theuma and questioning the prosecution's chronological account of events. Once closing arguments conclude and procedural requests are resolved, Judge Edwina Grima is scheduled to deliver final instructions to the jury before they retire to reach a verdict.
