Deadly drone attacks hit Russian regions as fighting escalates across Ukraine

Cross-border aerial strikes and intensive ground fighting have caused significant casualties across Ukraine and Russia.

Ukrainian drone incursions targeted commercial logistics infrastructure, igniting fires at Wildberries distribution centres in the Leningrad and Moscow regions and killing at least six people. In southern Russia's Krasnodar region, a drone crash on a Black Sea beach near Gelendzhik left seven people dead, including three children, and injured roughly 40 others.

Simultaneously, a Russian aerial assault on Kyiv killed nine people and injured 33. On the battlefield, Russian troops advanced near Artelne in the Kharkiv region and pushed into Kostiantynivka, while Ukrainian forces progressed toward Uspenivka in southern Donetsk. Along the northern frontier, Belarus began establishing a new air assault brigade near the Ukrainian border.
