At least 17 people were killed in Russian missile strikes on Kyiv, as Portuguese drone maker Tekever responded to claims Moscow captured one of its UAVs.

Overnight Russian missile strikes on the Kyiv region killed at least 17 people and injured dozens more, Ukrainian authorities reported. Air defense systems failed to intercept incoming missiles during an air raid alert lasting over an hour, with seven locations hit. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reiterated calls for Western allies to supply ballistic missile interceptors, stating they "could have saved lives." Moscow claimed its forces targeted military installations, while Kyiv accused Russia of striking civilian infrastructure. Early reports varied slightly on casualties, with initial counts citing 14 dead before rising to 17.

Separately, Portuguese drone manufacturer Tekever addressed Russian state media reports regarding the alleged capture of one of its unmanned aerial vehicles in Ukraine. Tekever declined to comment on specific client missions, maintaining that its technology constantly evolves to minimize operational risks.
