The US Supreme Court has temporarily allowed construction on the $400 million White House ballroom project to resume while justices review an emergency request.

The US Supreme Court has temporarily cleared the way for the Trump administration to resume construction on a $400 million ballroom project at the White House complex.

In an administrative order signed by Chief Justice John Roberts, the high court placed a temporary stay on a lower court ruling that had halted major portions of the development. The interim directive provides the justices with additional time to evaluate an emergency application submitted by the federal government while a lawsuit from a historic preservation organization continues through the legal system.
