Ukrainian air defenses intercept drone and missile barrage following strikes

Ukrainian forces intercepted 81 drones and a ballistic missile following heavy Russian strikes on the Kyiv and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Ukrainian air defense forces neutralized 81 drones and intercepted one of three Iskander-M or S-400 ballistic missiles launched from the north on July 24, according to Air Force officials. Air Force spokesperson Yurii Ihnat stated that Russian forces also deployed two Onyx missiles targeting southern regions alongside high-speed ballistic strikes.
The attacks caused extensive casualties across Ukraine. A missile strike on a private training facility in the Kyiv region killed ten people and injured nearly 100 others, Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko reported. In Zaporizhzhia, guided aerial bombs struck residential areas and a cemetery, injuring 30 people, including seven children.
Meanwhile, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov indicated Moscow awaits new peace proposals from U.S. President Donald Trump while continuing its military campaign.
