Ukrainian President Zelensky warned of an imminent Russian missile attack as Kazakhstan proposed freezing the war, while the ICC removed Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan over misconduct claims.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has warned that Russian forces have prepared missiles for a new large-scale attack against Ukraine in the coming days. According to Kyiv's intelligence, Moscow also plans to recruit an additional 30,000 North Korean troops this autumn. The warning follows a Russian strike on a Palau-flagged civilian vessel leaving a port in the Odesa region, which left two crew members missing.

Meanwhile, Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Omsk and proposed freezing the conflict to resume negotiations under an "Istanbul 2.0" framework.

In international diplomacy, member states of the International Criminal Court voted by a wide majority to remove Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan following allegations of sexual misconduct.
