Trump and Zelensky to meet in Washington amid global security escalations

US President Donald Trump will host Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the White House on Tuesday to discuss diplomatic options to end the war, including a proposed aerial ceasefire. The announcement follows a deadly Russian missile strike on a defense exhibition in the Kyiv region, which killed ten people and injured nearly 100. Ukrainian President Zelensky noted that the public event should not have taken place.
Security tensions escalated further as a Romanian F-16 fighter jet shot down an unidentified drone that entered the NATO member's airspace, according to Romanian President Nicusor Dan. Simultaneously in the Middle East, air defense systems in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain intercepted several Iranian missiles and drones directed at their territories during a new wave of regional attacks targeting American allies.
