Wildfires across Spain have scorched roughly 77,000 hectares and affected nearly 90,000 residents, with central blazes stabilizing while other fronts remain uncontrolled.

Firefighting crews across Spain continue working under severe conditions as a nationwide wildfire wave has burned approximately 77,000 hectares and impacted nearly 90,000 people through evacuations and confinements. Although major blazes affecting Ávila, Madrid, and Toledo are beginning to show signs of stabilization, active perimeters persist. Meanwhile, a separate wildfire in La Vall d'Uixó, Castellón, remains uncontrolled.

Authorities established a unified command center as local law enforcement and emergency personnel reported severe operational strain. One Guardia Civil commander remarked, "Jamás hemos vivido algo así; es un desastre, estamos desbordados." Temporary shelters, including Ávila’s national police academy and community facilities in Móstoles, continue housing thousands of displaced residents as responders work to secure active fire fronts.
