Russian forces carried out over 50 attacks across Ukrainian regions, killing three, as the UN reported a sharp rise in July civilian casualties.

Russian forces carried out extensive drone and artillery attacks across several Ukrainian regions on July 27, resulting in civilian deaths and injuries. Local officials in Dnipropetrovsk reported over 50 strikes targeting the Nikopol district and surrounding areas, which killed three people and injured six. In Zaporizhzhia, a drone strike on a commercial venue wounded four people, including two children, while another drone damaged a residential high-rise in Kharkiv.

Addressing the UN Security Council, UN political affairs chief Kayoko Gotoh noted a significant surge in civilian casualties throughout July, citing widespread impacts on residential areas and civilian infrastructure. In Kyiv alone, July strikes resulted in at least 56 civilian deaths and 232 injuries. Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy cautioned that intelligence suggests Russian troops are preparing missiles for a potential large-scale attack in the coming days.
