Russia and Ukraine exchange heavy strikes as drone waves and shelling hit multiple regions

Cross-border attacks between Ukraine and Russia intensified overnight, causing casualties, power outages, and extensive infrastructure damage across multiple areas.

Russian officials reported that Ukraine conducted a massive drone operation deploying more than 600 unmanned aircraft, with air defenses intercepting around 200 drones across the Moscow region. At least three people were reported injured in the capital area.

Concurrently, Russian artillery and aerial strikes hit eastern Ukrainian regions. The attacks left at least three people dead and nine injured in Dnipropetrovsk and adjacent zones. Power network disruptions in northern Chernihiv Oblast left approximately 99,000 consumers without electricity. In Donetsk Oblast, sustained bombardment has heavily damaged the frontline city of Druzhkivka, where the local population has dropped below 4,000 from a pre-war total of nearly 56,000.
