Romania's PSD has agreed to enter a new executive under Prime Minister-designate Luca Niculescu, securing 11 cabinet portfolios.

Romania's Social Democratic Party (PSD) has formally agreed to enter a new coalition government led by Prime Minister-designate Luca Niculescu. Under the agreement, the PSD will hold 11 of the 17 cabinet portfolios, with the remaining six posts assigned to technocrats.

PSD leader Sorin Grindeanu presented ten core policy priorities for the executive, positioning the decision as necessary to end political instability and manage economic pressures. The Democratic Alliance of Hungarians in Romania (UDMR) confirmed it will vote to invest the cabinet without holding ministerial seats. Niculescu is scheduled to present his full cabinet list and policy program to parliament on Thursday ahead of a confidence vote.
