Polish Deputy Sport Minister Ireneusz Raś faces scrutiny over drafting short-term rental laws while his family owns micro-apartments used for short-term leases.

Poland's Deputy Sport Minister Ireneusz Raś is facing scrutiny over potential conflicts of interest as he leads the drafting of new government regulations on short-term residential rentals.

Prior to joining the government, Raś owned three micro-apartments in a renovated tenement building in Łódź, each measuring between 12.4 and 13.05 square meters. Three months before taking office, he sold two of the properties to his brother and assigned the third to his former wife. The building where the apartments are located currently operates as a short-term rental facility.

Despite his family's ongoing ownership of the units, Raś maintains that his involvement in authoring the upcoming rental legislation presents no conflict of interest.
