Poland has proposed joint production of Patriot air defense missiles with the US and Ukraine, while around 30 lawmakers departed the opposition PiS party.

Poland has proposed joint production of Patriot air defense missiles with the United States and Ukraine to address regional security challenges. Polish Deputy Defense Minister Magdalena Sobkowiak-Czarnecka announced the initiative during a visit to Washington.

The defense proposal comes amidst significant domestic political shifts in Warsaw, where approximately 30 lawmakers left the opposition Law and Justice (PiS) party following an internal dispute between party leader Jarosław Kaczyński and former Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, who is reportedly considering forming a new political group.

Simultaneously, security tensions remain elevated across Eastern Europe. Romanian defense radar monitored Russian drones operating near the Ukrainian border overnight, prompting emergency alerts in Tulcea county, while Ukrainian authorities reported Russian missile strikes targeting the Kyiv region.
