Norwegian police have closed the probe into a Hamar house fire that killed four women, while a separate fatal fire occurred in Vennesla.

Norwegian authorities have officially closed their investigation into a September house fire in Hamar that resulted in the deaths of four young women. The Innlandet Police District stated that forensic investigators were unable to determine what caused the blaze, leading prosecutors to drop the case.

Following the decision, relatives of the victims spoke publicly about their grief, including Birgit Valla, whose 18-year-old daughter Astrid died in the incident alongside three friends.

In a separate event on Wednesday morning, emergency crews responded to a fatal fire in a terraced home in Vennesla, Agder. Police confirmed one person died at the scene, while nearby residents were evacuated as firefighters extinguished the flames. Crime scene technicians are currently investigating the cause of the Vennesla fire.
