US-led NATO forces executed heightened maneuvers near Kaliningrad as missile attacks hit Kyiv and reports revealed secret Russian drone bases near NATO borders.
Tensions across Eastern Europe have heightened following United States-led NATO operational maneuvers near Russia's Kaliningrad enclave and continued cross-border strikes between Russian and Ukrainian forces. The NATO activity, which featured Norwegian aircraft, AWACS surveillance planes, and Polish ground units, was described by military officials as routine defensive efforts to "continuously improve its capabilities."
Concurrently, media investigations reported that Moscow has constructed ten secret launch sites near NATO borders capable of firing long-range attack drones. The security concerns coincide with escalating air attacks. Recent Russian ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv resulted in at least two deaths and six injuries, while Ukrainian drone strikes targeted Russia's Saratov region.
