Moldovan authorities are navigating storm-related power disruptions, energy price warnings, delayed public sector salary increases, and national holiday reforms.

Moldovan authorities continue to manage administrative and infrastructure challenges following severe weather and fiscal policy adjustments. Repairs are underway after a storm destroyed around ten high-voltage towers along the Bălți–Dnestrovsk transmission line, triggering localized power outages. State energy trader Energocom also warned that higher foreign procurement costs needed to meet power demand could soon drive up consumer electricity tariffs.

Concurrently, public sector wage increases originally scheduled for September 1 remain suspended as officials align the wage structure with upcoming fiscal reforms. Prime Minister Vasile Tofan and President Maia Sandu noted the postponement was necessary for budgetary adjustments. Meanwhile, the government launched a domestic vacation voucher program worth up to 8,700 lei per employee, alongside public discussions regarding the potential reduction of national holidays to align more closely with European Union standards.
