The Kremlin rejected a proposal to freeze the war in Ukraine, as President Zelensky warned of potential missile strikes and ICC member states voted to dismiss Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan.

The Kremlin has rejected a proposal by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to freeze the conflict in Ukraine, with spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stating peace remains impossible due to Kyiv's position. Peskov emphasized that Russia's terms for halting hostilities remain unchanged.

Concurrently, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned that intelligence suggests Russian forces could launch a major missile strike within 48 hours. Zelensky also reported that Moscow intends to recruit 30,000 additional North Korean troops this autumn and receive extra ballistic missile launchers from Pyongyang, noting preparations are underway in Russia's Voronezh region.

In a separate development, member states of the International Criminal Court voted to dismiss Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan following allegations of sexual misconduct.
