Italian authorities are examining dashcam footage to determine why a motorhome crossed into oncoming traffic, causing a fatal crash on State Road 79 near Colli sul Velino. The collision, which killed six people and injured up to 34, involved a shuttle bus serving the Marmore Falls and three passenger cars.
Those killed include both bus drivers, two passengers, and two occupants of the motorhome. Investigators are evaluating whether the motorhome driver suffered a sudden illness, fell asleep at the wheel, or attempted an illegal overtaking maneuver. Emergency services established a dedicated hotline to assist relatives seeking information on victims, as cleanup and forensic work continued along a 100-meter stretch of debris.
