Iran adopted an offensive posture after peace talks with the US collapsed, as military strikes escalated near strategic trade corridors.

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have escalated sharply following the expiration of a 60-day ceasefire memorandum without an extension. Iranian military officials declared a transition to a "completely offensive" strategy, vowing to continue operations until achieving the "complete defeat" of US forces in the region.

The political impasse coincides with direct military engagements along vital trade routes. Following Iranian strikes on a US warship, US Central Command reported targeting five Iranian oil tankers and sinking one. Analysts note that heightened economic pressure on Tehran and control over the Strait of Hormuz significantly elevate the risk of a broader regional war.
