Speaking in an interview with Portuguese news channel SIC Notícias, Rio stated that the allegations must be addressed directly to avoid worsening a problem he described as "extremamente nocivo" for the center-right party. Rio stressed that failing to provide transparent explanations risks inflicting further damage on the political standing of the PSD at a critical moment. He emphasized that resolving the issue is necessary to maintain public trust in the party's leadership and integrity.
