Finnish President Alexander Stubb has dismissed German warnings of a potential Russian attack on NATO by 2029, though allies remain alert to hybrid threats.

Finnish President Alexander Stubb has dismissed German forecasts suggesting Russia could attack NATO territory within the decade. Speaking to the German newspaper Bild, Stubb stated, "If anyone has such a crystal ball – that's great. But I simply see neither evidence nor facts for this."

While expressing doubt that Moscow would directly challenge the Western military alliance, Stubb stressed that NATO members must stay fully prepared for any scenario to maintain effective deterrence. European security officials continue to monitor elevated risks, particularly regarding non-conventional operations. Intelligence agencies in Poland, Finland, and the Baltic states report an increase in Russian hybrid actions, sabotage, and espionage across the region, prompting enhanced defense coordination among allies.
