Russia launches fresh strikes on Kyiv as EU warns against hostile acts

Russia targeted Kyiv and Ukraine's energy grid, while the EU warned Moscow over explosive drones found near German critical infrastructure.
Russia has initiated a renewed targeting campaign against Ukraine's energy infrastructure while launching fresh drone attacks on Kyiv, injuring a resident. The escalated strikes followed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's address to the United Nations General Assembly.
In response, Ukraine intensified air strikes on Russian oil refineries, disrupting local fuel supplies and forcing Moscow to source fuel internationally.
Meanwhile, European authorities in Leipzig identified two suspects with ties to Moscow following the discovery of explosive drones near critical infrastructure. European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned the incident, stating the European Union will not tolerate attacks on its soil and remains prepared to respond.
