The EU renewed sanctions on Russia following a border missile strike, as Trump claimed Kyiv and Moscow agreed to halt energy infrastructure attacks.

The European Union has extended sanctions against Russia following a missile strike on a train near the Ukrainian-Polish border. EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas and French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot condemned the incident, stating the assault aimed to intimidate European nations.

Hostilities persisted across multiple fronts. Ukrainian officials reported two fatalities and 14 injuries from shelling in the Kherson region. Meanwhile, Russian authorities stated that Ukrainian drone strikes wounded seven people across the Belgorod and Sochi regions.

On the diplomatic front, U.S. President Donald Trump claimed that Moscow and Kyiv have agreed to refrain from targeting energy infrastructure. In Kyiv, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky signed an executive decree dismissing the country's prosecutor general.
