CIA Director John Ratcliffe reportedly proposed a US-Russia-Ukraine summit during an unannounced visit to Moscow aimed at restarting peace efforts.

Following his secret visit to Moscow on August 25, Central Intelligence Agency Director John Ratcliffe proposed a trilateral summit featuring the leaders of the United States, Russia, and Ukraine, according to media reports citing informed sources. The U.S. administration reportedly briefed Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the initiative, which seeks to reactivate stalled diplomatic efforts to end the war.

Ratcliffe arrived unannounced in the Russian capital aboard a C-17 military transport aircraft, bypassing standard diplomatic channels. During meetings with Russian intelligence officials, he cautioned against further military escalation toward NATO countries, reaffirming Washington's commitment to collective defense under Article 5.

Discussions also addressed Moscow's expanding military cooperation with Iran. While U.S. President Donald Trump publicly attempted to minimize the significance of the unannounced mission, reports indicate several senior White House officials were initially kept unaware of the trip.
