US to livestream firing squad execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan

US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth announced that the December 3 execution of Fort Hood shooter Nidal Hasan will be publicly livestreamed.
US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth announced that the execution of Nidal Malik Hasan, the former US Army major convicted in the 2009 Fort Hood shooting, will be "public" and livestreamed. Hasan was sentenced to death for killing 13 people and injuring 32 others at the Texas military base.
According to the Pentagon, Hasan will face a firing squad composed of military personnel on December 3. Hegseth indicated that broadcasting the proceeding publicly is intended to highlight the severe consequences for such crimes. The event will mark the first US military execution in over six decades and the first publicly broadcast execution in the country in roughly 90 years.
