The US and Uzbekistan have established a joint investment framework to expand cooperation in exploring and extracting critical minerals.

The United States has signed an agreement with Uzbekistan to enhance access to the Central Asian country's critical mineral reserves. The partnership framework, established between the US International Development Finance Corporation and Uzbek authorities, focuses on increasing bilateral cooperation across the entire critical minerals supply chain, from exploration through to extraction.

This strategic move reflects growing Western interest in securing essential raw materials from Central Asia, a region rich in natural resources that has historically seen significant influence from neighboring powers. By investing directly in local mining infrastructure and value chains, the initiative aims to diversify global supply networks for resources essential to modern technology and energy infrastructure.
