US forces struck Iranian military targets and oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz following missile attacks and mining attempts by Iran.

United States forces have conducted comprehensive strikes against Iranian military targets and three oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, following the launch of ballistic missiles by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps at two American warships. US Central Command confirmed the actions were also in response to an Iranian attempt to deploy naval mines, which were subsequently neutralized.

The conflict has increasingly targeted energy infrastructure and commercial fleets. US President Donald Trump warned that continued disruptions to international maritime trade could lead to further retaliatory strikes on Iranian civilian infrastructure, including power grids and bridges, cautioning that "very little will remain of Iran" if hostilities persist. Analysts suggest the shift toward attacking energy networks reflects an emerging era of energy warfare.
