US charges five alleged Russian agents over global plots targeting Ukraine allies
US prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian intelligence agents over global assassination and sabotage plots, as Denmark reports Russian sabotage against its defense firms.
United States federal prosecutors have unsealed charges against five alleged Russian intelligence operatives accused of orchestrating a global campaign of assassinations and sabotage targeting supporters of Ukraine. According to an indictment filed in Manhattan federal court, the network recruited individuals across North America and Europe to surveil and target figures aligned with Kyiv, including a June 2024 incident in Prague. All five suspects remain at large.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian actors conducted physical sabotage against Danish defense companies supplying military equipment to Kyiv, describing the operations as a significant escalation in Moscow's hybrid warfare tactics.
