US indicts five alleged Russian agents over global assassination campaign
US prosecutors have charged five alleged Russian agents over global murder and sabotage plots, while Danish intelligence reports Russian attacks on local defense suppliers.
Federal prosecutors in the United States have unsealed an indictment charging five alleged Russian intelligence agents with orchestrating targeted killings and sabotage operations across North America and Europe. According to the Department of Justice, the network recruited operatives to surveil and attack individuals and entities supporting Ukraine, including a June 2024 incident in Prague.
Concurrently, Denmark's Security and Intelligence Service reported that Russian actors executed physical sabotage against domestic defense contractors manufacturing equipment for Ukrainian forces. Danish officials described the operations as a marked escalation in Moscow's hybrid warfare strategy aimed at disrupting Western military assistance to Kyiv. All five indicted suspects currently remain at large.
