Ukrainian military figures call for systemic logistics and administrative reforms

Ukrainian service members and commentators continue to highlight systemic operational and administrative hurdles within the armed forces.

Frontline surgeon Bohdan Zhuravel warned that prolonged deployments without rotations leave personnel feeling marginalized relative to the civilian population. Logistical challenges also persist; drone company commander Yuriy Butusov reported that unit leaders must independently handle supply chains due to a lack of institutional accountability. Meanwhile, an investigation by Ukrainska Pravda revealed that military awards are disproportionately allocated to brigade headquarters rather than lower-level frontline troops. To enhance equity in mobilization, service member Pavlo Kazarin recommended targeted adjustments to deferment policies and military medical commissions.
