Rights monitors in Turkey report over 20 femicides in August, while a Siirt court accepts an indictment against five suspects in a 2024 murder case.

Independent media and rights organizations in Turkey have published updated data on gender-based violence for August.

According to media monitoring by news outlet Bianet, at least 25 women were killed and 71 others injured by men across the country during the month. Separately, figures released by the We Will Stop Femicide Platform recorded 22 femicides and 33 suspicious female deaths in August, noting that 55 percent of the recorded killings occurred inside victims' homes.

In judicial developments, state broadcaster TRT Haber reported that a high criminal court in Siirt accepted an indictment against five suspects in connection with the 2024 murder of a mother of four. Prosecutors utilized digital footprints, telecommunication records, and license plate tracking data to charge the victim's former husband, former father-in-law, former brother-in-law, and two other individuals.
