Rights groups in Turkey have published gender-based violence data for August, while courts in Siirt accepted an indictment in a 2024 murder investigation.

Rights monitoring organisations and Turkish media have published statistics on gender-based violence for August, alongside legal developments in a homicide case in Siirt province.

According to the We Will Stop Femicide Platform, 22 women were killed and 33 died under suspicious circumstances during the month, with over half of the fatal incidents taking place in victims' homes. Data compiled independently by news portal Bianet recorded at least 25 women killed and 71 injured by men across the country during the same period.

Separately, state broadcaster TRT Haber reported that the Siirt 1st High Criminal Court accepted an indictment charging five individuals in connection with the October 2024 disappearance and murder of a mother of four. Prosecutors relied on digital footprints, telecommunication records, and technical surveillance to indict the victim's former husband, father-in-law, brother-in-law, and two additional suspects.
