U.S. President Donald Trump has urged Ukraine and Russia to negotiate a peace agreement before winter following talks with President Volodymyr Zelensky.

U.S. President Donald Trump has called on Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and Russian President Vladimir Putin to negotiate an agreement to end the war in Ukraine before winter. Following a meeting with Zelensky, Trump stated that he spoke with Putin by telephone and expressed confidence that Moscow is open to reaching a settlement.

Zelensky characterized his discussions with Trump as "positive and productive," noting that both Kyiv and Washington share the goal of stopping Russian aggression in the coming months. Trump emphasized that both leaders must agree to terms, saying, "He wants a deal and, if Zelensky wants a deal, it would be great."

The diplomatic push comes as international leaders seek to establish formal negotiations prior to the onset of harsh winter conditions that could impact military operations.
