US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed steps to end hostilities before winter, with Trump stating Vladimir Putin also wants a deal.

US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held discussions focused on concluding the war in Ukraine prior to the upcoming winter. Zelensky characterized the meeting as "positive and productive," stating that both Washington and Kyiv aim to halt Russian aggression within the next few months.

Trump expressed confidence that Russian President Vladimir Putin is seeking a diplomatic resolution, following a recent telephone conversation between the two leaders. Urging both sides to negotiate a settlement, Trump remarked that Putin "wants a deal, and if Zelensky wants a deal, that would be great." The talks highlight a renewed diplomatic effort to secure an agreement between Kyiv and Moscow before winter conditions set in across the region.
