Trump transferred to secret flight in Turkey over Iranian threat, reports say
US President Donald Trump was secretly transferred to an alternative flight in Turkey following a credible assassination threat from Iran, according to reports.
US President Donald Trump was secretly moved onto an alternative military aircraft during a departure from Turkey in July following a credible assassination threat from Iran, according to reports by major American news outlets.
Following a NATO summit in Ankara, Trump publicly boarded Air Force One before security personnel covertly transferred him across the tarmac inside an airport catering truck to a secondary military plane bound for the United Kingdom. Official White House communications at the time had indicated that the president was travelling on his primary aircraft, while accompanying journalists remained unaware of the decoy maneuver until after departure.
The heightened security measures coincided with American military operations against targets in southern Iran. US authorities executed the covert procedure to mitigate potential security risks during presidential transit.
