Swiss companies shift IT outsourcing focus toward growth, study shows

A new study by Whitelane Research shows 30 percent of Swiss companies plan to increase IT outsourcing over the next two years to foster growth rather than just reduce costs.
Swiss companies are increasingly leveraging IT outsourcing to drive business growth rather than merely reduce costs, according to the "IT Sourcing Study Switzerland 2026" published by Whitelane Research. The survey indicates that 30 percent of polled Swiss enterprises plan to increase their share of externally contracted IT services over the next two years. This marks a minor rise from the 27 percent reported in previous findings.
Despite the rapid adoption and development of artificial intelligence technologies, delegating IT services to external providers remains a key operational strategy for Swiss firms. Businesses are progressively prioritizing expansion, innovation, and strategic capabilities alongside traditional cost efficiency when choosing to outsource IT capabilities.
