Negotiations over the Strait of Hormuz continue alongside regional diplomatic talks in Rome, while Iran maintains demands for US concessions.

Negotiations between Iran and Oman over maritime corridors through the Strait of Hormuz continue amid mixed signals regarding a potential resolution. Iranian officials reiterate that reopening the vital waterway remains contingent on United States concessions, including sanctions relief, economic compensation, and the cessation of military threats.

Concurrently, United States President Donald Trump suggested a deal could materialize swiftly while publicly downplaying immediate urgency, framing the standoff as a strategic negotiation influenced by Iran's economic difficulties. Washington maintains that diplomatic communication is progressing, though an accord has not been finalized.

Elsewhere in the region, approximately 800,000 displaced Lebanese citizens have begun returning south as Lebanon and Israel conduct a seventh round of talks in Rome. Meanwhile, maritime security risks persist following the sinking of an Indian vessel off the coast of Yemen.
